What a typical salon actually pays
Steady-state monthly cost — $99 platform plus $0.02 per text. Assumes one campaign every other week to your full list.
| Salon size | Texts / month | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| Solo stylist · ~400 clients | ~1,000 | $119 |
| 3-chair shop · ~1,200 clients | ~3,000 | $159 |
| Multi-stylist · ~2,500 clients | ~6,000 | $219 |
| Boutique chain · ~5,000 clients | ~12,000 | $339 |
| Multi-location · ~10,000 clients | ~25,000 | $599 |
Credits are bought in 5,000-credit batches ($100) — a one-time inventory buy that covers a solo stylist for ~5 months and a 3-chair shop for ~7 weeks. Inbound replies count as 1 credit each (same as outbound), so plan on roughly 10–20% more usage than your campaign volume. MMS (pictures) count as 3 credits each.
Frequently asked
What's a credit?
One credit = one SMS segment (160 characters) to one recipient. Longer texts cost more credits in proportion to length. MMS (picture messages) are 3 credits. Inbound replies count as 1 credit each, same as outbound — there's no separate "reply" pricing.
How does the credit minimum work?
You buy credits in batches — the minimum purchase is 5,000 ($100). Credits don't expire and carry over month to month. For a typical 3-chair salon, that's about 3 months of campaigns.
Can I import my client list from Booksy / GlossGenius / Vagaro?
Yes. Export the client list as a CSV from your booking software and drop it into Teleno's importer — last visit, lifetime spend, stylist, service notes all map automatically. We're also actively building direct integrations with each platform.
Do I need my own phone number?
No. Your $99/mo platform fee includes one dedicated 10DLC-registered business number. You can add more numbers (one per location, for example) for an additional fee.
How does 10DLC compliance work?
The carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) require every business to register before sending texts. Teleno's onboarding walks you through it in about 10 minutes — we handle the paperwork, you answer the questions. The one-time TCR registration fees (~$44) are passed through at cost.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, from your account settings. You keep any unused credits through the end of the billing period. Numbers stay portable for 90 days after cancellation.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Sign up, import your client list, and configure everything for free. You'll add a card when you submit your 10DLC registration — that's a carrier requirement — but no charges hit until your number is approved (typically 1–2 business days). If TCR denies you, you're not billed.
I'm a barber / nail tech / boutique gym, not a hair salon. Does this still fit?
Yes. The exact same workflow — win back lapsed clients, fill no-shows, reward VIPs — works for anyone with an appointment book. We're focused on independent salons first because that's where the no-show economics are sharpest, but the product was built for any owner-operator who texts customers.
